Update: Three-vehicle crash near Taupo

Emergency services are responding to a crash near the intersection of Ohaaki Rd and Te Toke Rd, about 20km north east of Taupo.

The crash happened about 4.30pm.

A police spokesman told the Rotorua Daily Post three vehicles were involved.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said five people were injured. One was critical, two had suffered moderate injuries and two suffered minor injuries.

All have been transported to hospitals in the region.

One lane is blocked, but vehicles are still able to drive past the scene.
