Update:
4.43PM: Police have confirmed a body was found in a hot pool at Kuirau Park.
Rotorua area commander Bruce Horne said police have completed the recovery operation.
"What we suspected as a body can now be confirmed to be the body of an adult. So we will now bereporting this matter to the coroner and continue our investigation to identify this person."
Mr Horne said they were treating the case as an "unexplained death" and there was not, at this stage, anything suspicious.
A hearse is parked nearby and have brought their own stretcher.
Police cordon tape has since been taken down.

Rotorua police area commander Bruce Horne addressed media outside the cordons. He said they were still not sure if there was a body at this stage in the fenced area but were working on recovery.
"Shortly after 1.20pm this afternoon we got a call from a member of something of concern in the pool. It would appear, but we are not sure it is, a body in the pool so we're working very carefully our options for recovery because obviously that is going to be very dangerous and difficult undertaking," Mr Horne said.
"Also with the body, doing it in such a way that we can keep the dignity of the person in there."
Mr Horne said the recovery will take several hours.

Police say they are dealing with what they believe to be a body in the cordoned-off hot pool.
Media have been moved from the area while they removed the body from the area.
A Rotorua Daily Post reporter at the scene said the fire crew were inside the fenced area with a ladder.
A large section of the park, opposite Rotorua Hospital, has been taped off with police standing guard inside the cordons.

She said a police photographer could also be seen within the cordons.
Bay of Plenty Police communications manager Kim Perks said police had received a "report of something of concern at the park".
"A member of the public has phoned us having seen something in the mud pools. We are not sure what is it yet and are having a look. Obviously the person was concerned enough to phone in about it."
