Eastside residents are to get a new takeaway later this year with Pizza Hut confirming it will open another Rotorua site, creating up to 16 jobs.

The new site will be on Te Ngae Rd, next to a new Owhata Medical Centre that is opening at the end of this month.

A Pizza Hut spokeswoman said the new store would open in September or October and the type of store that was being planned will need about 11 staff members and four to five delivery drivers.

The jobs will be advertised soon.

The building is being developed by local developer Tony Bradley, who has built the neighbouring Owhata Medical Centre.

The medical centre will move from its current site at the nearby Owhata Shopping Centre on July 31.
