A record number of Rotorua tourism operators will be on show at this year's Trenz conference.
Trenz, which stands for Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand, is the country's largest annual tourism trade show and it kicks off in Rotorua tomorrow.
The event runs until Wednesday and is an opportunity for tourismoperators from around New Zealand to meet with influential tourism buyers and media from across the country and around the world.
More than 1100 delegates are registered to attend the prestigious event.
Rotorua last hosted the event in 2008 and Trenz 2015 is being hosted by Destination Rotorua with support from other regional tourism organisations from across the central North Island, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Eastland, Hawkes Bay, Ruapehu, Taupo and Hamilton/Waikato.
Destination Rotorua general manager Oscar Nathan said it was great to see so many local tourism operators taking up the opportunity to be showcased at Trenz.
Thirty-four Rotorua operators will be on show and Mr Nathan said those operators had a unique opportunity to reach a wide range of influential tourism buyers.
Rotorua deputy mayor and Economic Growth Portfolio lead, Dave Donaldson, said hosting Trenz was great exposure for the district.
