A large tree is partially blocking the road on State Highway 30 in the Rotoiti Forest area.

A police media spokeswoman said a tree was blocking the eastbound lane of SH30.

She said police received a report about 10.45am and were attending.

She said it was not yet known if the tree had been removed.

Traffic control was in place and the council had been informed.

A Rotorua Lakes Council spokeswoman said NZTA contractors had been notified and vehicles were still able to drive around the tree.
