Tractors and working horses will be in action at the annual Rotorua Tractor and Machinery Club's working day.

Horses will be quietly working while the tractor pull sees tractors tow a sled for 100m putting out smoke and noise.

Some older, collectors' item tractors will also be on display and they include stationary engines which were once found in every cowshed and woolshed in the district.

Crafts and models will be on display and there will be a bouncy castle for the young ones.

Catering is shared by Mamaku School and the local volunteer fire brigade which will also arrange fire safety displays, weather permitting.

The day is a chance to see machinery of yesterday working alongside modern technology.

The day starts at 10am this Sunday at the corner of SH5 and Oturoa Rd, Mamaku. Entry is $10 and under 12s are free.
