Musicians involved in the Ducati Revolution Tour 2011, which includes international DJ Carl Cox, have been spotted in Rotorua.
The group are in the city as part of a promotion which has the well-known DJ touring the country with five others including Kiwi DJ Gavin S and Cafe Del Mar saxophone
player John McGough.
Cox commented on his official Facebook page on Monday that the group was heading to Rotorua "to rest the bones in some natural thermal pools".
His Facebook followers warned him about Rotorua's distinctive smell and advised him on where to go. He later posted that they were likely to visit thermal pools on Tuesday morning as opposed to Monday afternoon. He also said they were going to Lone Star for dinner.
Rotorua Lone Star front of house manager Chris Davies said a group did have dinner at the restaurant on Monday night.
"We know we had the six people from the Ducati tour but we weren't given any names."
He said they seemed to be having a good time.
"They would have been the second-to-last table to leave. The waitress even commented on how nice and friendly they all were."
The group were also spotted at Rotorua attraction DriftKartz.
DriftKartz's Nick Beazley said the group had an "awesome race series" and had a lot of fun.
Representatives from several hot pools told The Daily Post they had not seen the group or Cox.
