A man has been charged after a person was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Tokoroa.
Police responded to the collision at the intersection of Maraetai Rd and Thompson St just after midnight yesterday.
The pedestrian was seriously injured, and the road was blocked for ashort time.
Hato Hone St John sent an ambulance, a rapid response unit and a manager to the scene.
One person was taken to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition
A police spokesperson said a 27-year-old man had been charged with careless or inconsiderate vehicle operation causing injury and was due to appear in Tokoroa District Court on May 21.
