Student Katherine Page said she was sad to see it go.
"I didn't start until August. But it's sad to see it go. But we know there's good come out of it," Page said.
In 2016, more than $41,000 was donated.
Page said it was nice to know the students had done their part for the community as the profits went to charity.
She said it had also given her, and the 28 students involved, the skills and knowledge they needed.
The Charity House project, a home built by the institute's carpentry, electrical and interior design students, is in its sixth year this year.
Page said the project would run again once the house was moved.
Applications for the funds can be made later in the year at www.rotaryrotoruasunrise.co.nz.
