A 3-year-old boy has been seriously burnt after he accidentally pulled a pot of boiling water over himself in the Bay of Plenty.
The Trustpower TECT rescue helicopter was called to Opotiki at 1pm today after the boy got serious burns to his upper body and face.
He was stabilised
at the scene by St John medics before being flown, along with his mother, to Waikato Hospital for specialist treatment.
