When Black Caps captain Kane Williamson walked off the park for the final time at the Twenty20 World Cup, he felt a mixture of pride and disappointment. Pride in how his team shone to make another
world final, and how they committed to the cause and adapted to conditions to topple more fancied sides. But disappointment in the result from that final, with his side falling to an eight-wicket defeat to Australia.

Great performances all around by the BC's they came one short this time, but at some point this team will get over the line. What a great side!! - Great times for NZ Cricket
- Hayden G

The Black Caps made three finals in three formats. Stunning effort. They also got their priorities right. Out of three finals they were beaten in hit'n'giggle, effectively won the ODI but were robbed by poor umpiring and a technicality, in my view, but triumphed in the test format in which all teams would most like to be victorious. Outstanding.
- Peter G

Hey, we scored a record innings score in a 20/20 final, sure we missed Lachie F's pace on this wicket, but Warner, Marsh and co really showed their brilliance. I think The Oz would have trounced England, Pakistan or India on the day.

A great tournament, pity we couldn't quite step up another notch in the final. That's T20 though, you have to be 100 per cent on the day.
- Duncan M

In reply to Duncan M: The tournament had some serious flaws, however. 11 out of 11 for the team batting second in Dubai. They need to adjust the rules to make getting wickets easier. It's part of the game and exciting to see wickets fall. If wickets don't fall, it's a doddle for the team winning the toss and of course batting second.
- Tony R

Bad luck for the Black Caps but they can be proud. If not for an incorrect umpire's call we would be one-day world champions as well as world test champions. So three world championships and results of two, one, two. You would be happy with that if it was offered at the start. No other team got to two finals, never mind all three. It's probably a bit of self-promotion but those results make us the best all-round team in the world by my reckoning.

Seems the teams batting second in this tournament have had an unfair advantage. Anyway, the Black Caps have again done the country proud. No disgrace finishing second and better than England and India, again. Lydia and Steven kept the Kiwi flag flying high as well. On this occasion, we won't talk about the rugby.
- Jim T

Enjoyed the game and the tournament. Proud of Blackcaps effort. Shame about the continual corny rubbish coming out of the P.A system between overs. Terrible. Particularly obnoxious "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie: Oi, Oi, Oi" - lame.
- Peter S

Aussies always seem to get us. Frustrating! Well done Black Caps though.
- Ross W

In cricket, New Zealand is always my second team. I love the skills, character and dignity that the team displays whether win, lose or draw. From an Aussie.
- David F

It would have been a different game if we had won the toss - as it was we would have needed 200+ to be competitive.
- John C

As I recall they "got over the line" in the test championship.
- Michael C

Bad weekend for Kiwis! AB's well beaten, woman's 15 smashed and lost the cricket!
- Redgr F

Terrible effort in a final of only getting 57 runs in 10 overs.
