Get aboard the Lakeland Queen for a scenic cruise.

Get aboard the Lakeland Queen for a scenic cruise.

There's no arguing that Rotorua is one of the most picturesque places in the country and the city is also the perfect place for a little romance. Here are five of our favourite places to go on a date.

Stratosfare Restaurant
Men, listen up. If you're looking for a place to
woo a lady friend, look no further than the newly rebranded Stratosfare Restaurant. Sitting near the top of Mt Ngongotaha, overlooking the city lights that glisten like stars in the evening, the restaurant exudes classiness and romance. A must for anyone wanting to impress.

Polynesian Spa
There's nothing more romantic than relaxing in a hot pool, hand in hand with your significant other, while gazing up at the stars. Relax in the privacy of a deluxe private mineral pool with views of Sulphur Point or dip into an adult pool right by the lake's edge. Make sure you leave the budgie smugglers at home.

Lakeland Queen
Get aboard the Lakeland Queen and join a peaceful and scenic cruise along the shores of Lake Rotorua with your partner. Relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Ohinemutu, Mokoia Island, and the summit of Mount Tarawera while dining in luxury. The perfect way to spend a summer's afternoon.

Mini Golf
For a date with a fun twist, try mini golf. Mini Golf New Zealand on Fairy Springs Rd even have a few cute and friendly rabbits to cuddle with after your game. Cuddly rabbits and winning (you can pretend you let her) are a sure way to keep girls happy.

Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is sure to be a date with a difference. The Wall, Rotorua's first and only indoor rock-climbing facility, gives people the opportunity to try their hands - and feet - at climbing. A fun idea if the weather's turned sour and your plans for a romantic picnic at the lake is spoilt.
