Looking for something to do these school holidays? You could end up drift karting, going to the movies or choosing which fish to put in your prize aquarium.

On Sunday it is the annual Hits Easter Beach Dig at Hannahs Bay Reserve. Children aged 12 and under can dig for a popsicle stick and win an instant prize. There are all sorts of things to win courtesy of Wonderworld Aquarium and Pet Centre, Reading Cinemas, Playtopia, Drift Kartz and OGO. But hold on to your stick because there are bigger prizes up for grabs - the main prize is an aquarium set up from Wonderworld valued up to $1000. The prize winning stick will be announced on air on Monday.

Hits brand engagement manager Kat Hicks said it would be a great morning for families, especially as the prizes would help make school holidays a bit more exciting. "Everyone gets an instant prize, no one is left out," she said. "In the past we've had around 300 kids. Digging starts at 10am so get there early to get in the line. It's a lot of fun."

She said kids could bring a spade or just use their hands. There will also be a sausage sizzle to raise money for Plunket Rotorua.
