There are ways to prevent car theft.

Summer time is normally a time for holidays and hopefully the weather is sunny and fine so we can enjoy recharging the batteries.

Over this period we seem to spend a great deal of time in our motor vehicles going shopping or travelling to our holiday places. It's important to be reminded that we still need to be aware of potential crimes affecting our vehicle.

Theft from vehicles, also known as "theft ex car", involve the theft of property from within a motor vehicle.

Thieves gain entry primarily by forcing locks or smashing windows. But they are also helped by those who leave windows open.

-Don't leave things on display.

-Keep valuables (money, mobile phone, cheques, credit cards) on you or at home - not in the glove box or under a seat.

-Keep bags, luggage, coats etc locked out of sight in the boot.

-Record stereo serial numbers.

Enjoy your holidays by protecting your property and knowing your vehicle is as safe and secure as possible.
