Rotorua's Temuera Morrison is set to share his life with New Zealand.

Morrison, who is well known for his role on New Zealand drama series Shortland Street, is set to be followed by a camera crew for new show The Life and Times of Temuera Morrison.

In his
career, Morrison has featured in several films, including Couples Retreat, The Marine 2, Tracker and Green Lantern.

He's also part of a new movie which will be released next month called Mt Zion. Mt Zion stars Morrison, Rotorua's Darcy-Ray Flavell-Hudson and pop star Stan Walker and will be released on February 6, with its World Premiere on February 4 at Event Cinemas Manukau complex.

Walker plays Turei, a talented singer who dreams of his band playing the support act for Bob Marley's 1979 tour. But it's a dream that challenges the traditions and values of his upbringing and will set him at odds with his family _ particularly his father (Morrison), a true man of the land.

Morrison's The Life and Times of Temuera Morrison project is being funded by NZ On Air.

In a statement, New Zealand on Air said they were providing $424,887 for the project, which would result in eight 30-minute shows which were expected to be screened on TV1.

The statement said The Life and Times of Temuera Morrison would follow one of Maori's favourite sons as he re-evaluated his acting career, engaged in competitive kapa haka and revealed his evolving relationships with whanau.

It has been supported through NZ On Air's Rautaki Maori.
