Kinloch murder accused Cody Paul Griffin had his second bail application refused in the Tauranga High Court yesterday.

Kinloch murder accused Cody Paul Griffin had his second bail application refused in the Tauranga High Court yesterday.

One of three men charged with a Kinloch man's murder in Taupo last year has been refused bail for the second time.

Farm hand Cody Paul Griffin, 26, has been jointly charged with Daniel George Chase, 22, and Whakapumatanga Clarke, 25, with murdering Scott John Henry on July 20, 2017.

Henry, 48, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest and was later found by a family member at his property in Whangamata Rd, Kinloch.

In the High Court at Tauranga yesterday Griffin's lawyer, Jonathan Temm, argued before Justice Rebecca Edwards that his client should be granted electronically-monitored bail.

That was opposed by Crown prosecutor Amanda Gordon.

Griffin, Clarke and Chase are also jointly charged with robbing Henry of a green Ridgline Pikau bag and its contents while armed with a firearm.

A fourth person, Natasha Telford, 43, also from Taupo, has been charged with being a party to robbery. Her bail application was abandoned yesterday.
