Taupō motorcycle crash leaves person in critical condition

One person has been critically injured in a crash involving a motorcycle in Taupō.

A police spokesperson said they were called to the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rifle Range Rd and Taharepa Rd about 10.09am.

The crash involved a motorcycle and a ute, the spokesperson said.

“The road was briefly closed but traffic is now flowing.

“The Serious Crash Unit have been notified.”

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said one person had been airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
