A Manuka St building has been evacuated. Photo/Google Maps

A building in a Taupō industrial area has been evacuated due to a crack venting steam.

A police spokeswoman said employees at a Manuka St premises had been evacuated due to the crack which was venting hot steam on the rear of the property.

She said technical experts were at the scene and police had been stood down.
