They said they may have to block part of Tennyson Dr off and that grated with me a little bit. I truly hope it will fix the problems out east side. I have to allow an extra 20 minutes to get into town.

I'd rather they had just stuck with the original bypass, the Rotorua Eastern Arterial. But I'm not sure if their plans will fix the issue.

There are some good ideas, but there is a lot more that needs to be done. Traffic lights at the Tarawera Rd intersection would be a good solution as long as they all co-ordinate so you get a decent traffic flow. They are getting there.

I think it's great they have allowed residents to voice their concerns and have shown us some options. But I think the whole thing is reactive instead of proactive. From what they are telling us traffic lights will improve the problem . . . they are the experts and you do have to listen to them at some stage.
