Street view: Do you think Maori language should be a compulsory subject in state schools?

I think it should be taught at primary and intermediate, but once you get to high school level you should be able to decide if you want to keep learning it.
SARAH JAMIESON, 32
Lynmore

Yes it should be, because it's for the Maori children and it can help other kids and other people with communicating to Maori people.
MARSHALL CLARKE, 35
Whakarewarewa

Yes, because it's our native language.
GREG JOHNSON, 32
Fenton Park

No, it's difficult, I'm part Maori myself but I don't think it should be forced on anyone, people should have the choice to learn.
