My son was/is being bullied in school. In turn once bullied, he will bully.
Myself and a few friends decided to spend lunch playtime at the school as this seemed to be when most of the bullying was happening. We thought we could bring a ball and kick it aroundwith the kids and hopefully this would help to minimise the bullying, which i believed was a help.
Other parents noticed out input and decided to put their hand up also, and volunteer to spend lunchtimes at the school as well. Unfortunately this was not met with much entusiasm by the Principal, he even suggested in a meeting with me that if the parents would like to come up and spend time at the school, he may have to have eveyone police vetted. I believe this is ludicrus.
We, as parents have the right to interact with our children at school during school hours. Here is a simple suggestion to help minimise bullying in the school and the Principal is not interested. My son has been getting bullied for a few months now. Not only was my complaint ignored, the bullying got worse, and the Principal rejected a very good suggestion to help bring it under control. If the Principal isn't going to accept parental help, what can we do????
