State Highway 1 reopened after crash

UPDATE: State Highway 1 in Turangi has reopened after a crash between a cyclist and a horse float this morning.

The cyclist has been taken to hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries.

EARLIER: A crash between a cyclist and a horse float has closed State Highway 1 in Turangi.

The road is closed in both directions.

The crash happened at 11.10am and details of injuries are not currently available.

Traffic management is in place.
