The Christmas spirit is alive and well at Hells Gate with staff members pulling together to give to those less fortunate.
As part of the Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal businesses, clubs, schools and individuals have been donating food and cash to the Salvation Army Foodbank.
Hells Gate front officeand souvenir shop manager Nicola Hay said she had read about the Christmas Appeal and thought it would be good to put together a staff donation.
"Because Christmas is a time of giving, we just really wanted to give to those less fortunate than ourselves to make Christmas more special," Ms Hay said.
From there, Hells Gate and WaiOra Lakeside Spa Resort staff pulled together to make a hamper of non-perishable food for the foodbank.
"All the staff thought it was a really awesome idea and they just wanted to get on board. We would love to do it again next year and see if we can double our contribution," Ms Hay said.
She said the hamper contained about 30 items from the 20 staff that contributed.
