Boycrush

Boycrush

Demi Pointes is a new track from Boycrush's album Desperate Late Night Energy, due in June.

The song, a late-night future pop-electronica number with vocals by Jessie Cassin, is accompanied by the first of a video trilogy featuring New Zealand Dance Company's Chrissy Kokiri, Carl Tolentino and Xin Ji.

The clip is directed by Rowan Pierce and choreographed by Malia Johnston.

Boycrush is the creative project of Alistair Deverick.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra have released their fourth album Sex & Food, the video for Everyone Acts Crazy Nowadays, a delightfully creepy animation by Greg Sharp to accompany a song that's a cross between Prince and Ween.

Sex & Food is said to address themes including "What are we consuming? How is it affecting us, and why does everything feel so bad and weird sometimes?".

You can catch UMO live this September, with performances in Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland from September 5 to 8. Tickets from Live Nation.

Both Taane and Kora have been working on new material, and both played a part in the making of Hall's 2017 album Rules of Engagement.

The shows will feature all three artists performing solo sets with the prospect of some special collaborations as well.

The Tipi Haere Tour takes in Whangarei's Butter Factory on June 14 (without Kora), Kerikeri's Turner Centre on June 15, Kaitaia's Te Ahu on June 16 and Opononi Hotel on June 17.

Tickets from Eventfinder.
