Bad Moon Rising: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute will be playing at the Rotorua RSA tonight.

Bad Moon Rising: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute will be playing at the Rotorua RSA tonight.

A night full of timeless hits is in store with the Bad Moon Rising: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute concert.

Held at the Rotorua RSA tonight, drummer and band manager Steve Tree said the show was set to be entertaining.

"It is an authentic show, pretty much as close to Creedence Clearwater as you can get. We have no backing tracks and have been touring throughout the country," Mr Tree said.

Creedence Clearwater Revival was an American rock band popular in the 1960s and early 1970s. Mr Tree said during the show the band will have a video projector behind them showing iconic events from that period, such as the first man on the moon and Woodstock.

"It's a good live show, with good sound, just like the band. We also have a bit of a banter. Bad Moon Rising have probably been playing together about five years and it's just good, timeless pop music. Not a lot of people know that Creedence sold more records than the Beatles did," he said.

Bad Moon Rising will be taking their show to Sweden and Denmark later this year.

"In the audience we've had young people, baby boomers and Vietnam veterans as the music was associated with the Vietnam war. We've had vets come and shake our hands afterwards."

The show will also be held at Ohope Chartered Club tomorrow from 8pm.
