If your dancing shoes have been gathering dust or you fancy yourself as a bit of a John Travolta, it's not too late to get involved in the 2017 Harcourts Dancing with the Stars.

Public auditions will be held on Saturday to find the final couple who will line up in the fundraiser for Rotorua Hospice in August.

Dance experience is not required, though stage presence will help. It's also not necessary to already have a dance partner, though pairs are welcome to audition together.

The successful male and female will receive a series of dance lessons leading up the event, which last year was one of the biggest nights on Rotorua's social calendar.

Event organiser Jan Morgan said the couple who made it through from last year's auditions - Rodney Conrad and Judi Anne Geenty - did extremely well and their Phantom of the Opera themed dance was a crowd favourite.

Althought registration has officially closed Mrs Morgan said people could still turn up at 11am and audition if they wished.

A dance floor and blue tooth speaker is available however you will need to bring your own music if you wish to audition to music.
