The Bay of Plenty men's sevens team have fallen just short of making the final of the Bayleys National Sevens in Rotorua.
After a great run in the tournament, the Bay went up against Waikato in their cup semifinal today.
Waikato were far too good in the match and cameaway 33-0 victors.
The Bay men and women both made the semifinals this year marking good improvements from the year before.
The men's final will be held at 5.30pm between defending champions Wellington and Waikato, and the women's final will be staged at 4.55pm between Auckland and defending champions Manawatu at the Rotorua International Stadium.
