The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter responded to the incident at the Whakarewarewa Mountain Bike Park just after midday today.

A 17-year-old male had serious injuries after crashing his bike. He was found by another rider who raised the alarm.

He was flown to Waikato Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
