One person has died following a two-vehicle crash near Lake Taupō this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to the crash on State Highway 1 near Rawhira Rd just after 1.10pm.
Police said the highway has now reopened on the eastern side of Lake Taupō between the intersection with SH41 and theintersection with Lake Terrace.
Traffic was being diverted most of the afternoon along the western side of Lake Taupo.
