Mokoia Intermediate in last night's award-winning performance.

Eight schools took the stage and provided a fantastic night of entertainment at the ASB 2014 Stage Challenge and J Rock in Rotorua last night.

Numerous awards of excellence were presented, with Mokoia Intermediate taking out the Spirit of Stage Challenge award.

Mokioa Intermediate performed Dream Time, where they explored how dreams can be hard to distinguish from reality.

Event manager Sarah-Jane Phillips said: "We had such a fantastic day here at the Civic Theatre in Rotorua, the atmosphere has been electric!"

"Rotorua put on a fantastic show and I was blown away by all the students' talent and hard work! The performances reflect how Stage Challenge and J Rockare great outlets for youth to creatively express themselves and their values."
