Sawmill worker hurt after falling on to conveyor

A sawmill worker had to be flown to Waikato Hospital for specialist surgery after he fell on to a moving conveyor belt and received serious injuries.

The Tauranga-based TrustPower TECT rescue helicopter was called yesterday afternoon to transfer the injured 57-year-old Kawerau man from Whakatane Hospital to Waikato Hospital.
