"When I left the grounds in 1960 I remember looking through the back window of a chauffeur-driven car and saying to myself, 'Thank you Wimbledon for the memories'."
Late last year, the Aotearoa Maori Tennis Association contacted Wimbledon asking if they would consider accepting Morrison-Davy as an honorary guest for this year's tournament.
They responded, extending the benefits of their prestigious Last 8 Club to Morrison-Davy.
Players who have made it into the quarter-finals of the singles, semifinals of the doubles or final of the mixed doubles are invited into the club.
Members are given a pass to access the grounds every day of the tournament, a guest pass, use of a private hospitality suite and daily match tickets for the main courts.
Morrison-Davy said she was overwhelmed when she received the news, and is now on a mission to go.
She said she still needed to raise enough money for flights and accommodation for the tournament during June and July.
Rotorua Citizens Club is holding a karaoke competition tomorrow to raise money for Morrison-Davy.
Club president Pango Putaranui said Morrison-Davy was well known at the club and they wanted to get in behind her.
The karaoke competition starts at midday and includes two prizes of $500. There will also be raffles and cheap meals on offer. Entries into the karaoke competition can be made at the club tomorrow morning.
