Rotorua Boys' High School 1st XV (with the ball) face a difficult challenge in the Super 8 competition tomorrow.

Rotorua Boys' High School 1st XV (with the ball) face a difficult challenge in the Super 8 competition tomorrow.

Rotorua Boys' High School 1st XV are aiming for their fourth win on the trot in the Super 8 competition.

The national champions host the top ranked team this season - Hastings Boys' High School 1st XV - tomorrow.

Rotorua Boys' High go into the clash after a 25-18 win over Hamilton Boys' High 1st XV last Saturday thanks to a solid display in difficult conditions.

Manager Bruce Buckton said the side were fully prepared for the "dangerous attacking play" Hastings Boys' High will offer.

"Hastings' form has been outstanding and we have prepared knowing they can create a lot of chances and cause real problems," he said.

"We just have to take the momentum from the last couple of games and use it to our advantage.

"In this competition anything can happen but we will stay composed and stick to a structured game plan."

There are three more rounds left in the competition after this weekend with the two top teams playing off for the Super 8 Shield on August 13.

Rotorua Boys' High are in the best possible position after wins over Tauranga Boys' College and Gisborne Boys' High School.

Buckton said the side were aiming to win the title after losing in the final last year to Hamilton Boys' High.

"We certainly want to get our hands on the trophy again," he said.

"Beating Hamilton was a big result for us and we have to use that confidence against Hastings.
