RECTIFY: Pikiao Warriors head coach Jason Parata says his team needs to cut out the errors when they take on Pacific Sharks this afternoon.
Pikiao Warriors will be looking to build on their first up win against Mangakino in the second round of games in the Coastline/Bay of Plenty competition.
The Warriors beat Mangakino Hawkes 20-6 in Taupo last weekend, in what head coach Jason Parata described as a very physical game, and willhost Pacific Sharks at Puketawhero Park on Saturday at 2.30pm.
"[Mangakino] are a very big side and I thought our defence was pretty good but our discipline was poor," he said
Ill discipline has cost him two forwards to suspension, and it is something he has spoken to his players about.
"We will notice their loss, but hopefully the guys that are coming up will go alright."
In grading games before last week's first round, Pikiao lost to Pacific in Tokoroa by six points.
"We need to try and cut out our errors, they were really costly in that first game - cut out the errors and not leak so many points," said Parata who believes the six point deficit shouldn't be too hard to turn around especially with home support behind side.
Ngongotaha Chiefs, who started the competition with a narrow 14-16 loss at home to Taupo Phoenix last weekend, have this week's bye.
