Kahukura will need to play their best rugby this season to get past undefeated Paroa.

The Baywide Division One competition, the second-tier competition in the Bay of Plenty, is nearing the semifinal stage.

With only two rounds to go, Kahukura and Waikite are in a good position to make the semifinals.

Kahukura sit in third spot but will host top-of-the-table Paroa tomorrow at Kuirau Park.

Kahukura coach Charles Hubbard said it would be a tough game but they were capable of winning.

"This match will be a challenge with Paroa not losing at all this year and especially coming down from that premier division last year. They're going to be a tough side and we don't expect anything less.

"Unfortunately the other teams are in close numbers on the points table with us.

"We've really just got to try and play the best footy that we've been training all year towards. We've put it together in patches throughout the year.

"At times we've let ourselves down a little bit, so hopefully this week we can rectify it. We'd like to win this game to make us the other home semi-finalist.

"So ideally we'd like to firstly secure a place in the top four and then after that, a home semi would be a bonus."

Meanwhile, Waikite can work their way into the top four if they defeat Ngongotaha this weekend in a Rotorua derby.

Baywide Division One draw: Tomorrow, games start at 2.45pm: Te Teko v Katikati, Dunderdale Park; Waikite v Ngongotaha, Bellvue Road; Kahukura v Paroa, Kuirau Park; Whakatane Marist v Arataki, Rugby Park; Poroporo v Marist St Michael's, Poroporo Park.
