Rotorua's dux students: Rotorua Girls' High School

Kim Parras

Rotorua Girls' High School dux is prefect Kim Parras, who demonstrated excellent initiative skills and was popular among her peers and teachers.

Kim was the academic captain and prefect for the school this year. She had been a member of the school's honour society and was a young scholar for the last two years.

Last year she attained NCEA Level 2 endorsed with Excellence. She was placed in the top three echelon of 2012 students.

This year she looks certain to gain Level 3 NCEA/University Entrance.

She was sitting scholarship papers in chemistry, physics and biology.

Kim also ran the Study in the Whare - an initiative for students to receive tutoring and mentoring in all subjects.

Next year, Kim aspires to study biomedical science at the University of Auckland.
