Bay of Plenty Steamers fans are in for a treat with Rotorua set to host three Mitre 10 Cup games this season.

The 2018 Mitre 10 Cup draw was released today with the Rotorua International Stadium hosting Steamers matches against Taranaki, Waikato, and Manawatu.

The competition kicks off on Thursday August 16 with North Harbour taking on Northland at QBE Stadium in week one.

The competition plays across nine weeks with every team playing one Wednesday night fixture in a double-up round where they play twice that week.

The semifinals will be played on October 19 and 20, with the Championship final on Friday October 26 and the Premiership final the following day.

Bay of Plenty remain in the championship division after losing last year's final against Wellington.

Saturday August 18: Bay of Plenty Steamers v Taranaki @ Rotorua International Stadium at 7.35pm
Saturday September 1: Bay of Plenty Steamers v Canterbury @ Tauranga Domain at 2.35pm
Friday September 21: Bay of Plenty Steamers v Waikato @ Rotorua International Stadium at 7.35pm
Thursday September 27: Bay of Plenty Steamers v Manawatu @ Rotorua International Stadium at 7.35pm
Saturday October 13: Bay of Plenty Steamers v Northland @ Tauranga Domain at 2.35pm
