Ngamihi Simpson kept up the Swim Rotorua gold rush with six victories in her six events in the girls' 11 years age group. Her best race was the 400m medley.
Aaron Muchirahondo, 11, was first in four events plus a second place. His wins were in the 50m breaststroke, 100m medley, 200m medley and 100m freestyle, and he was second in the 50m butterfly.
Nikita Pola won the girls' 13 years 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle and in the 400m freestyle, in which she broke the five-minute barrier for the first time.
Arwen Barker won the girls' 9 years 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle. She was second in the 100m breaststroke and third in the 50m breaststroke.
In the boys' 9 years section, Hone Curtis won the 200m backstroke. Further success came with second places in the 100m medley, 50m butterfly and 100m backstroke. He was third in the 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.
Naitarah Hunia, 11, was third in the 200m backstroke with a time of 3m 14.03s. Older brother Phoenix achieved 100 per cent best times, won the boys' 13 years 50m butterfly, and was third in the 100m backstroke.
Tamzin Joy also achieved 100 per cent best times. She picked up a brace of second and third places to underline her growing promise in the girls' 9 years age group.
Hannah Kiernan did well in all her races and her standout performance was third in the girls' 10 years 50m freestyle with a best time of 38.37s. Wesley Larey was third in the boys' 11 years 100m breaststroke in 1m 54.92s.
Nathan Putt, 12, battled strongly throughout and was rewarded with third in the 50m breaststroke in a time of 50.30s. Sam Schulze was third in the boys' 11 years 50m breaststroke.
Kasey Taikato excelled in the sprint events, coming third in the girls' 13 years 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly. Competing in the same age group was Stella Weston who produced lots of best times. Her top placing was in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 3m 14.74s.
Sam Trass did well in his signature butterfly and backstroke events with a couple of first places in the 200m distances. Not content with that, he went on to grab a couple of seconds and one third in the other distances.
Ava Tremain was another to catch the eye with a fine series of racing. Ava produced a 2m 45.75s effort to win the girls' 10 years 200m freestyle, plus top-three placings in the 200m backstroke, 200m medley and 100m breaststroke. Younger sister Charlotte won the girls' 8 years and younger 50m backstroke and was second in the 50m and 100m breaststroke - all achieved in best times.
In the boys' 12 years age group, Swim Rotorua was well represented by Taonga Wharekura and Dion Wright. Taonga took top honours in the 50m backstroke, and was third in the 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m medley. Dion smashed the five-minute barrier in the 400m freestyle with a superb time of 4m 52.48s to take the title. In the 50m and 100m freestyle, Dion was third and second respectively.
Head coach Alastair Johnson was delighted with his team's showing.
"We have done extremely well at the classic meet. It has been great to see the young swimmers race their hearts out and achieve many notable successes. We are a close and strong team where everyone supports and encourages each other to push on.
"The next event for these young swimmers is the Central North Island event which takes place over Labour Weekend. In the meantime, we do have places available if anyone wishes to join the club and get ready for their summer swimming."
