Rotorua was well represented on the podium at the North island BMX Championships held in Cambridge over the weekend.

Dave Mohi, a multi New Zealand and world championship medallist, won the 40 years plus division.

The annual Mighty 11s trans-Tasman clash against Australia saw the New Zealand female team, featuring Rotorua's Caitlin Flavell, retain the trophy 113-83. The New Zealand female team won the first day 67-50 and were dominant on the second day 46-32.

Te Awamutu's Rebecca Petch and junior world champion Maynard Peel from Pukekohe upset senior rivals to claim the North Island BMX elite titles in Cambridge.
