He said the 23 residents had been kept up to date with the situation and there was no impact on them.
About 18 full and part time staff were still working, he said.
Mr Rodewald said the receivers were in negotiations with parties interested in buying the business.
He said they had received a bit of interest and the priority was to find a buyer. Mr Rodewald said the receivers had the "complete backing" of the district health board.
Receivers had been appointed by the company's bankers, at the request of the company directors, he said.
"It is business as usual for residents and staff."
A spokesperson for Lara Lodge said she was unable to comment.
