Rotorua residents can look forward to a day of fun, talent and companionship with the Rotorua Youth Centre Park Fiesta.

The fiesta is being held as part of Rotorua Parks Week, which is running from March 10 to March 18.

Semu Filipo, youth development co-ordinator at Rotorua Youth Centre says the Parks Fiesta is the first event presented by the Rotorua Youth Centre Leadership 'Krew' for 2018.

"It's a celebration of fun, sun and gathering in one of the reserves here in Rotorua."

He says the group wants to hold an event to start the year off and the Parks Week felt like the right fit.

"Rotorua has many parks and reserves, so it was only fitting that we celebrated the centre's reserve."

Semu says entry and activities are free, with some spot prizes available and food for sale.

Activities will include tug of war, three point shoot-out, karaoke and open mic.
