Rotorua's generosity has raised close to $50,000 for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society's 2017 Daffodil Day campaign.
The Cancer Society said the funds raised through the iconic fundraiser, which launched nationwide in 1991, would help the one in three New Zealanders affected by cancer.
In Rotorua alone, $47,934 was
raised for the charity.
Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society fundraising manager Catriona Findlay said they were incredibly grateful to everyone who had supported Daffodil Day by making a donation or by offering their time to help organise or collect on behalf of the Cancer Society.
"From funding research and providing free support to people with cancer, to helping Kiwis reduce their risk through education and advocacy, every dollar will remain in the region to make a difference in our local communities," she said.
