A Tauranga woman who snuck into a Rotorua managed isolation hotel after drinking alcohol has had her charge dismissed.
Anne-Marie Gordon, 45, from Pyes Pa in Tauranga, went through the diversion process and had her charge of being unlawfully in an enclosed yard or area dismissed in the Rotorua DistrictCourt.
The summary of facts provided to the Rotorua Daily Post stated that at about 9.40pm on August 5, Gordon went to the rear of the Sudima Hotel on Eruera St after drinking alcohol.
The hotel had a 2m-high steel fence surrounding it to keep people who had returned from overseas in and the general public out, it said.
The premises were guarded by New Zealand Defence Force staff, police and private security.

Gordon lifted a section of the fence and moved it enough to be able to enter through it, the summary of facts stated.
She began moving towards the building when a guest in isolation heard Gordon's voice outside her room. The guest opened her curtain to find Gordon picking things up off the ground before moving back to the fence, it said.
The guest quickly called security as she thought it was a guest escaping. She then returned to her window to find Gordon gone, it stated.
