After a drier than usual October it seems more rainy weather could be headed Rotorua's way through until summer.
MetService meteorologist Lisa Murray said that in October things dried out a bit after a wetter than average winter, but that could be set to change.
"You've had a pretty wet year.
"October brought a bit of a change, there was actually below-average rainfall."
The MetService station at Rotorua Airport measured the monthly rainfall at 94.4mm, which is 11mm below the long-term mean.
Ms Murray said looking at November Rotorua was in for at least another week of rain.
"Rainfall-wise, it's looking like this week will be wetter than average.
"The next two weeks will be slightly drier then a wet end to November is expected."
Temperatures were expected to remain relatively high over the next few days and cool into the start of next week.
Ms Murray said that over the weekend Rotorua could expect light showers but periods of blue skies.
"The weeks starting Monday 6 and 13 [November] look to be decent weeks.
"There doesn't seem to be too much persistent rain around. Overall it's looking like a pretty average November."
According to local weatherman Brian Holden, October was an average month.
His weather readings in Springfield showed the rain at 1.2mm above average and the mean temperature at 12.2C compared with an average of 12.3C.
Mr Holden's statistics showed the wettest days of the month were the weekend of October 7-8, when 46.5mm fell in 48 hours.
His maximum temperature came in at 20.2C.
