Rotorua Girls' High School have produced a ruthless and clinical performance to beat Waikite Panthers 83-37.

The students played with a calmness beyond their years as they set about dismantling their opposition, punishing any mistakes.

Waikite worked tirelessly in defence, but still trailed 23-11 at the end of the first quarter.

Rotorua Girls' maintained that momentum in the second quarter, movement off the ball a feature of their play, and led 43-23 at halftime.

The way Rotorua Girls' moved the ball around made defending an exhausting exercise for the Waikite players and it began to show in the third quarter as they could only manage three goals, trailing 68-26 with one quarter to play.

Waikite managed to pull things back in the fourth quarter but it was too little, too late as Rotorua Girls' completed a comfortable victory.
