Police are appealing for dashcam and CCTV footage as they investigate a double fatality on State Highway 30 near Rotorua.

Emergency services were called to the two-car crash about 4.20am on Thursday, January 15.

Two people were found dead at the scene, while a third person suffered moderate injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police would like to hear from anyone with footage from areas between Fenton St in Rotorua and Curtis Rd/State Highway 30 in Tikitere between 2am and 4.20am.

In particular, they are seeking information about a green Honda Spike, registration HBS903, and any details relating to the vehicle’s movements during that timeframe.
