Rotorua Daily Post sports reporter Ruth Dacey has been named a finalist in the TP McLean Sports Journalism Awards.
Ms Dacey has been shortlisted for the New Zealand Herald DJ Cameron Young Journalist award, up against Niall Anderson from NZ Herald and Raniera Harrison from Maori Television.
A total of112 entries were received across the 12 categories. One of the category winners will go on to take the CBL Insurance Supreme Sports Journalist of the Year title plus a cash prize of $1000.
The winners will be announced at the Sir Terry McLean Awards dinner at the Ellerslie Event Centre in Auckland on Wednesday December 14.
