The awards keep flowing for Rotorua business Pipi Ma.

The business, which makes dolls that speak and sing in te reo, won the People's Choice Award at the New Zealand Innovation Awards in Auckland last night.

It's been a successful month for Pipi Ma creators Kristin Ross and Hohepa Tuahine after they took out the Innovation Business Award at the 2017 Westpac Rotorua Business Excellence Awards on October 7.

The dolls come with bilingual language learning cards and cover pre-schooler basics like colours and learning to count. The packaging of the Pipi Ma range of dolls reflected Maori heritage with a wharenui box design and te reo Maori instructions.

The Pipi Ma characters will also become an animated, full immersion cartoon for pre-schoolers this year.

More than 700 people celebrated the country's most innovative organisations and individuals across all industries and specialities at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre last night with 22 winners and 14 highly-commended awards presented.
