Luke Mudgway (Cambridge) wins the Rotorua to Taupo 100k Flyer.

A trio of Cambridge riders have finished on the podium at the Moa Rotorua to Taupo 100k Flyer this year.

Less than a second separated first-placed Luke Mudgway, Regan Gough (second) and Sam Dobbs (third) as they crossed the Taupo finish line 2h 17m 05s. About 900 riders took part in the 100km race, with an elite 30 chasing the $1800 prize money.

The event, now in its 16th year, started on Ward Ave.

In the women's race, only three riders entered the elite field with Nat Kerwin (Napier) winning in 2h 32m 23s.

Rotorua Racing's Harry Phipps and Jared Johnston took part, raising money for the Special Care Baby Unit at Rotorua Hospital in honour of the late Stephanie McHale.
