Reporoa crash victim was Chase Manuel of Taupo

Police have named the man who died following a crash in Reporoa on Saturday.

He was Chase Manuel, 21, of Taupo.

Police previously said in a statement that four others received minor injuries in the crash, which happened on State Highway 5, about 1km north of the Golden Springs settlement, between Rotorua and Taupo.

Police were called to the scene just after 9.20pm.

Police offered their sympathies to Manuel's friends and family at this difficult time.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
